I woke up early this morning.
“Early” is defined in the Laura Swanson weekend routine as anytime before 9 a.m.
As my reward for rising before high noon, I watched CBS Sunday Morning. This show has always been one of my parents’ favorites, and it makes me think of home. I also love the magazine-style reporting, which was my preferred type of writing during my broadcast journalism days.
This morning the cover story was titled, “Some hard lessons about college costs.”
I found the piece particularly interesting because I work in higher ed; I have dreams of attending grad school one day; and I feel passionate about the value advanced learning adds to one’s life.
One of the Star Tribune’s columnists took a trip down to the Hostess City, and he made a fairly accurate assessment of Savannah.
Touristy Savannah, that is.
